Heart Patients to Lose Weight
When you are suffering from a heart condition, it becomes all the more important for you to lose weight, not because of a fad but for the healthy functioning of your heart. Regular exercising and nutritious food will make your muscles strong. However, you must learn to be active without causing too much pressure on your heart.
Even though exercise keeps your heart young and healthy, you must not start an exercising routine until you check with your doctor. Also have an expert in the loop if you are medically unfit to have strenuous schedules. Here are some exercises that you can do without putting your heart at risk.
This type of exercise using your heart and lung power for a long time and also improves the blood flow by allowing the heart to use oxygen better. You may have to condition your heart to work hard but this must be a slow process and not put too much pressure on it as it can risk in a stroke or failure. Light aerobic activity like swimming, jogging, walking etc can be done in moderation. Make sure that you stretch your muscles for at least 5 minutes before you start exercising.
Resistance weight training
With the help of resistance training, you can make your muscles much stronger and healthier over a period of time. While this kind of exercise makes you feel stronger, it does very little for the heart the way aerobic does. Always start with light exercises so that you can slowly move to the advanced levels while training your body to handle the pressure.
Know your limits
Do not force yourself to do beyond your physical capability. If you feel the difficulty, it is time to stop for breath.
